Easton mum of four, Abiir Shirdoon, wants to make the streets and the planet safe for the next generation – and has dusted off her bike to do her bit.

I think we have always tried to be sustainable as a family. Even when our daughter, Chloe, was born 10 years ago, we opted for real nappies (not as easy to come by back then) as opposed to disposable ones.

We are a throwaway society and that doesn’t sit well with me. When I was growing up we made do with what we had and we kept hold of it.

I’m fortunate enough to be able to work full-time from home at the moment. In my spare time, for a bit of variety from my dining room “office”, I head up into the attic to play some music.
